Sponsored Employee Cancellation (out of UAE)
The Residence Permit of a sponsored employee residing outside the UAE must be cancelled upon cessation of employment or cancellation of the Free Zone license.
Requirements
The following documents are required for submission at GSO Business Counter:
- “Application for Employment Visa Cancellation” duly filled and signed by authorized signatory (Our Fixit Government Services Typing Center Dubai Knowledge Village smart Typist will help you to get this Filled Application).
- Original passport.
- Original ID Card (if applicable).
Important!
- The Dependent Residence Visa of the sponsored employee must be cancelled prior to the cancellation of the sponsored employee’s Residence Visa.
- End of Service benefits must be settled in compliance with UAE’s Labour Laws, and settlement must be signed by the employee and the employer. End of Service benefits and Residence Permit Cancellation requests are reviewed and verified by GSO.
- An employee with a cancelled visa must exit the country within thirty (30) days from the date of cancellation. However, if the Residence Permit is cancelled after its expiry, the employee must leave the country immediately. To avoid daily overstay fines the employee must exit the country within the stated period.
- The Employer is responsible for the employee’s departure from the country, even after the cancellation of the Residence Permit. Also, responsible for arranging the employee’s transportation to the Airport and must obtain the exit form bearing the departure stamp from the Airport.
- The original exit form bearing the departure stamp must be returned to GSO within two (2) working days from the employee’s departure. The company’s records will not be cleared until the employee’s original exit form or a new visa photocopy is submitted to GSO’s Business Counter.
- Upon cancellation of sponsored employee out of UAE, the cancelled employee would be cleared from the company’s record.
